Artist Scott Harris
While a senior at Brevard College, I experimented with aluminum as a painting surface and have been intrigued ever since. I have worked almost exclusively in aluminum in both sculpture and painting since graduating, and have continue to play with the dichotomy of a warm, inviting scene on a cold, industrial surface. The metal surface lends itself to water and reflection. It just so happens that one of my favorite things to look at, and to paint, is a wet street at night. I love to play on the movement and color in the light, and the shimmer of the road and sky playing against each other.
