Artist Kim Gibbs

North Carolina based artist Kim Gibbs creates incredibly textural paintings.

She pushes, pulls, sprays, and throws her oil paint onto the canvas. For her it’s an emotional process, like dancing, that she uses to connect to the place and feel of her subject matter. Her work is done in series, exploring various subjects from figures to florals.

Among her many accomplishments, Kim is particularly proud to have had her artwork featured on the website of the UK-based health research organization Evidently Cochrane, and to have her work commissioned for installment at the Wellstar Hospital Holly Springs location.

“I bring movement, energy, and spontaneity into my paintings. Texture, color, application and process are my inspiration. My intention is to infuse my work with these elements inviting the viewer to join in the experience of discovery.
